Do any install programs actually the xbmc install files built in?

Since the xbmc server has been having some problems lately and I wasn’t able to install, that brings up an interesting question of do programs like nito and atv flash have the xbmc install files built in and they just transfer them over to the atv? Or do they still have to download them from the xbmc server?

The two programs you quote certainly rely on being able to download the install files from the server.

So then do any programs come with the files built it?

I have never heard of one.

This sort of software is normally downloaded on demand from the server as that allows the developers to always ensure you get the current version and all the correct dependencies for that version.

Is it possible to download the latest xbmc somewhere, transfer it to atv and install via ssh?
