Something I observed but hadn’t really the time to mention was that once a Direct URL has been added, I am seemingly playing whack-a-mole between all of my synced devices when trying to delete that URL. I have Infuse on tvOS (2x), MacOS, and iOS.
For example, if I add a bunch of Direct URLs on the MacOS client, iCloud will sync them to the other clients. That works great. However, once I delete any or even all of them on the MacOS app they may or may not actually get removed from the others. Oftentimes they just hang around, but they’re gone (for a time) from MacOS. Even going to each client and specifically deleting all of the Direct URLs (on each client within a couple minutes of each other) does not get rid of them. Just last week I added some more Direct URLs to MacOS, and to my surprise, a bunch of old Direct URLs that no longer work and were deleted, reappeared after an iCloud sync, so there are duplicate posters in the MacOS client, and now also on the other clients.
For a time I thought it was maybe the Infuse Cloud Backup option on tvOS that was responsible, and it may have been at some point, but I disabled that option on all Apple TVs, yet the Direct URLs continue to revive themselves somehow.
I’m not really sure how to address this, but I’d be willing to debug.
For reference, I’ve been using Direct URLs for about 18 months now and have written some suggestions based on that usage.
I mention it now because maybe it’ll be in the ballpark when What are some iCloud sync improvements planned for `8.1.6`? drops.
