I feel like I’m missing something obvious, so looking for a sanity check.
In Jellyfin, I’m building a few playlists to playback series from the same universe in their chronological order (e.g. Better Call Saul + Breaking Bad + El Camino, or all the various Star Trek series, etc). I access these playlists in Jellyfin via Infuse’s direct mode. The initial playback is no problem, but choosing the ‘Next Up’ to continue watching day-after-day seems to continue from the non-playlisted series. I.e. the videos don’t stay in the playlist order, but jump back into the normal series, as if the playlist doesn’t exist. This largely defeats the value of the playlists.
Any ideas? Or is this as intended and I need to submit a feature request for some type of tracked playlist playback?
Looks like you’re right. If I start a video in the playlist itself, it works as planned. If I start a video then back out to the home screen, it stays within the series ordering.
For some reason I can’t find much on this issue (I guess my google-foo is failing me), but it seems like it’s by design for some reasons. It also seems like it may work the same for Plex and Emby.
Disappointing though, as working through the playlist is not nearly as easy, if not completely infeasible for series that have hundreds of episodes.
