Custom TV Show Posters/Fanart works intermittently

This is basically 2 issues in 1.

  1. Infuse will sometimes load low-res fanart. The shows have a 1080p/4K backdrops in TMDB, but Infuse will display a highly compressed version (no higher than 720p). This only happens with a few shows. My best example is South Park, because of point #2

  2. For maybe 10% of my shows with custom artwork, Infuse will refuse to load my posters and fanart. I have custom artwork for maybe 20-ish tv series, and most work fine. I have fully dumped my metadata and allowed Infuse to re-sync the entire library multiple times. For me, South Park will initially load my custom artwork… the poster and fanart will display, and it will remain like that for about one day before reverting back to a low-res version of the artwork that’s in TMBD. Some of my other shows (eg RuPaul’s Drag Race UK) will act like I don’t have custom artwork at all and will literally never display them… TMDB art is loaded instantly and just remains forever.

My media is organized in this manner:
TV Shows/TV Show/Season 01/TV.Show.S01E01

I place the fanart.jpeg and poster.jpeg in the /TV Show/ directory (which again, works fine for most of my shows)

This occurs on all my devices (All three of my latest-gen Apple TVs, iPad Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro).

One thing to check is make sure you don’t have Prefer Embedded Artwork enabled on any device.

A screen cap of the low res image may help to figure out what’s going on.

This setting is disabled. I toggled it on last year during troubleshooting and it’s definitely something I want to keep off.

Will upload screenshots soon

The image quality difference is subtle, but it’s absolutely there (and much more obvious on a 65” 4K screen). This issue is very rare across my library, but a few of my shows just cannot be fixed.
