Does that mean an older Infuse Version (tvOS) was able to override the Title from a TV-Show?
And now this not work anymore 
I really hope Infuse finally implement support for true XML/NFO Support to get rid of the Dependency of TMDB 
If there is, I haven’t found it, and I’ve investigated this thoroughly.
Through the use of local .nfo you can customize (overwrite) much of the TMDB-derived metadata for individual episodes (displayed episodes’ titles, plots, cast members, etc.), but series titles and episode IDs are not among them.
- Episode IDs: S01E11 — you can’t use an .nfo to make Infuse apply a different episodes’s metadata to a given episode as a shortcut to dealing with issues with shows like Firefly that were broadcast out of sequence and are picked up by Infuse by TMDB’s broadcast order and not “DVD order” since Infuse does not yet support alternate episode orders.
The reason I’ve determined that series titles can’t be changed is Infuse was designed in such a way that TV series are treated as nothing more than “TMDB collections” of episodes and Infuse is not set up to allow users to change the titles or inclusion of TMDB (Movie) Collections nor the titles of TMDB (TV Show) “Collections”.
Another very annoying thing I’ve discovered about Infuse over the last couple months I’ve lived without home Internet is that no matter if you group all episodes of your TVDB-compliant TV Series in per-season subfolders with complete local metadata and local artwork … if Infuse can’t connect to the internet to query TMDB to identify your media files itself — it simply refuses to utilize and display the provided local metadata, episode thumbnails, season#episode# filenames and folder structure — leading all your TV series folders containing one loooong list of all the tv episodes in your collection in one sloppy page — with autogenerated portrait orientation thumbnails (like movies) instead of horizontal orientation tv episode thumbnails. Local fanart is also ignored on the episode details pages.
Folder are is only utilized because I’ve named them “folder.jpg” as opposed to “poster.jpg”.
A fully complete series looks like this, without access to internet. No reason it shouldn’t auto-populate the window it generates when you click on one of those barely identifiable episode “portraits”:

Next, the display of wild episodes you get clicking an episode folder, instead of a details page with episode pickers right away. Note what should be displayed is either a “Season 1” folder icon or a proper flattened episode selection page:

- Below I’ve disabled “Show Filename” to make clear offline-Infuse still recognizes these are tv episodes with unique season and episode identifications.
Episode titles, synopses, ratings, and cast members are pulled from the episodes’ .nfo files and are displayed correctly — but local artwork is not respected; nor are episode files properly grouped into distinct seasons while every possible indication they ought to be is present. 
TV show episode titles, yes.
TV show series titles, no.
Same as TMDB Collections:
Movie titles, yes.
Collection titles, no.
It’s really not understandable why Firecore always bring new Features instead of fixing finally the Basics

TheMovieDb continues to annoy me. Added 60+ episodes of an Internet show over the last couple days. Got an e-mail today that they deleted it because it was against their guidelines. (They let Internet shows like Critical Role be in there, so I guess this isn’t as popular or famous as that one? Ugh.)
…so without the show being in the site (even though it’s on IMDb AND TVDB), my files in Infuse will be a mess. I can’t emphasize how much I hate both TheMovieDb’s stupid rules (including the “default order is ALWAYS air date with no exceptions” one) and Infuse’s continued lack of attention to allow users to include info for TV shows that aren’t allowed by TheMovieDb.
Man, I really miss the days when Infuse used TVDB. We didn’t know how good we had it.

To be fair, TMDB now supports alternative episode orders via their episode groups feature (see this example for Firefly), though it isn’t super intuitive how to access them on their website and Firecore does not yet support them.
I’m aware of their restrictions but what I submitted was NONE of those. Not a video game, ad, music video, YouTube video (although it is on YouTube too), fan film, amateur content, alternative version, fan edit, DVD material, sports events, virtual reality, 3D simulator ride, Blu-Ray audio disc, video review, bootleg, audio-only, motion study, or online course.
Yes, it IS on YouTube and it IS available as a podcast…but so is Critical Role. They record it live on Twitch and YouTube and the show is later published on Twitch, YouTube, and as a podcast. What I submitted was literally the same thing, but a different show on a different topic by a different network which can be watched on the Network’s site. Just because it’s not released on Netflix or Disney+ apparently means the shows by this network don’t count.
No way am I going to narc to them on similar shows so they’d delete those too. I know of at least 3 others by online networks you’ve probably never heard of (two of which have gone out of business) which they haven’t deleted. I guess they’re just lucky.
In any case, this doesn’t resolve the issue that we need full NFO-Support! Then it wouldn’t matter to me what TheMovieDb does with their precious database. I could make NFO files for all my shows and not have them eff it up ever again.
Firecore doesn’t support it in Infuse, so it might as well not exist for my purposes. Really, it makes no sense to me that TheMovieDb insists the US air date is the one and only correct viewing order…even if the show in question was made by Canadians in Canada and first aired in Canada in a different order and viewing it in the US order introduces continuity errors. TheMovieDb folks cannot be reasoned with.
I don’t know if there’s a reason you don’t want to run an Emby server, but it’s SO GOOD for situations like this. It has full support for NFO files, so you can rename episodes, completely reorder them, create totally custom TV shows that don’t exist on TMDB, anything you want. And then they show up exactly as you’ve set them, in Infuse.
Infuse’s metadata options are much simpler, designed for those who just want their metadata automatically filled without having to mess with it.
In my opinion, an Emby or Jellyfin server is the only option for a serious power-user who values control over the way their collection is displayed and sorted. And with the new features coming in Infuse 7.7, it will also have the benefit of not needing to use Infuse’s metadata library at all, so you don’t have to worry about long scans, or the Infuse cache-clearing problem. And it makes it super easy to set up a new instance of Infuse on another device, as everything is permanently stored in Emby’s database, so you don’t have to re-scan everything every time you download Infuse.
I don’t know why anyone who truly cares about metadata would keep banging their head against a wall, fighting with TMDB, and begging Infuse to implement features that already exist in Emby.
That’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
Like the best of zealots, they stick religiously to their rules to keep their database predictably consistent and far more stable than it otherwise would be if they were more flexible.

All non-qualifying entries found in the database will be deleted.
Should you wish to contest the deletion of your entry, please provide us with the following information: a clear explanation of why the entry qualify based on one of our exceptions and at least one reference to an independent online source (e.g. a professional newspaper, the official website of a festival, the verified social media accounts of a broadcaster).

I’m still a bit unsure whether to use Emby, because I’m a bit “afraid” that with one wrong click I could destroy my painstaking manually created NFO files…
I’m not that well versed in Emby yet 
But I think I would still prefer to be able to use my normal File-Structure with fully supported NFO files instead of an Emby-Server
So you’re saying they are responsive to feedback. 
I actually had a positive experience with them on both occasions that I have had cause to raise issues.
Totally different scenarios but in both cases I asked them first.
Once they agreed straight away with what I was saying. On the other occasion they didn’t initially agree but I raised a further point and they then agreed with me on that also.
Both times I found them to be really friendly and helpful, which came as a surprise. This isn’t the only forum where I have seen them described as stupid, arrogant and much worse. 
I might have suggested such things myself once upon a time. 
Once I realized my desire to use Infuse handed them all the cards, and started migrating my collection to align with their rules; I started discovering they might actually have reasons for the things they do, and they might not actually be as terrible as they initially seemed.
Go figure. 
I have now played around with the Emby-Server for some time…
But I have to say, I still prefer to organize my Movies and TV-Shows manually with NFO-Files, Jpg etc. only. This just gives me more Overview and I know exactly where my Posters, Actor-Pictures, Backgrounds etc are stored. And I can simply edit the NFO to change something
That’s why it’s still absolutely important that Infuse finally offers full NFO-Support for TV-Shows. Because these “Fights” with TheMovieDB must finally stop. And we should get the possibility to adjust everything manually with NFO-Files!
