Crash on MacOS 11.3.1

Late 2013 15" rMBP (Intel).

Downloaded from app store excited to try out - sadly crashed immediately for me. Searched and I don’t really see people with crashes since alpha builds?

TIA.

Hurry to test on mac, apple store does not allow me to install infuse or downgrade to MacOS 11.
Do you have a version for old mac (MacMini Late 2012)?

JGColsa.

Welcome to the forum!

Sorry but the Mac version of Infuse requires a minimum of macOS 11/Big Sur.

Runs fine on my 2013 rMBP. A simple test to rule out something in your user account is to create a new user on the mac and install it there.

Hi - thanks for suggestion. Same issue with a new user.

Hoping someone can delve into the crash log a bit and figure out what’s throwing the error.

Cheers.

Sorry if this is repetitive suggestions but have you tried deleting the app and re-downloading it? Also have you tried restarting the Mac?

Indeed I have, multiple times.

I notice in the screen cap you posted it says on the report button it says “Click report to see more detailed information…” What did it show when you clicked Report?

The crash log that I’ve attached in the OP.

Sorry! Old eyes missed the link, thought it was the descriptor for the pic. Will dig around a bit. Thanks for hanging in there!

We’ve been looking into this, and this one is a little unusual. The application is crashing because one of the embedded libraries is missing after installation. This shouldn’t happen, as the download is coming directly from the App Store.

There are only a few reports, so it may be a temporary App Store issue…or some other issue with Apple.

If anyone is up for a few troubleshooting steps, here is the process to try.

  1. Delete Infuse
  2. Open the Terminal utility (from your Applications/Utilties folder)
  3. Type: open $TMPDIR../C/com.apple.appstore/
  4. Hit Enter
  5. Delete everything in the com.apple.appstore folder
  6. In Terminal, type: open ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
  7. Hit Enter
  8. Delete everything you see in the fsCachedData folder
  9. Restart your Mac
  10. Install Infuse from the App Store

Hey James,

Thanks for the reply! Agree it is unusual…I’ve tried the steps outlined above and still the same error.

Hoping this is a temporary AppStore issue but will let you know…

Thanks for trying. Hopefully the App Store gets thing sorted out soon.

We also have a 7.0.1 update awaiting review by Apple, so simply having a new version on the App Store may help clear out any bad cached data.

If you have a chance, it would be interesting to look at the actual app that is being downloaded.

  1. Open Applications
  2. Right-click on Infuse and select ‘Compress Infuse’
  3. Upload the zip file at https://upload.firecore.com

Just curious, are you logged into the mac as the administrator or as a user?

Thanks james have uploaded the compressed app.

I am the sole user/admin (outside of the brief period where I created another user as per another user’s suggestions).

We’ve just released 7.0.1 on the App Store.

Can you try downloading this update to see how it works for you? :crossed_fingers:

No luck!

Did the upload reveal anything I might be doing wrong on my end?

Hmm. Very strange.

If you have a chance can you compress the 7.0.1 app and send that in as well.
