Hello,
thanks a lot for your reply!
Do you have “Background App Refresh” enabled for Infuse?
Yes, it is enabled. But since I do the tests with manually starting the sync, I think it doesn’t matter so much.
Does watched status sync between devices?
I just tested it - watched status does not sync. I was not aware of this because I rarely used my iPhone to watch movies or series, something I wanted to change recently.
I tested some more and observed another weird behaviour:
On the Apple TV, I added another favorite folder for my share (I only have one share, the SMB to my Raspberry NAS). Then I let the sync run. On my iPhone, the new favorite folder didn’t appear - but the small checkmark next to a favorite folder disappeared for one of the shared folders, at the same place where I added the new favorite folder on the Apple TV.
This sounds a bit complicated, so let me try to visualize it:
- Apple TV favorite folders of the SMB share:
(Apple TV)
"folder1" [✔️]
"folder2" [✔️]
"folder3" [✔️]
"folder4" [ ]
"folder5" [ ]
- iPhone favorite folders of the SMB share:
(iPhone)
"folder1" [✔️]
"folder2" [✔️]
"folder3" [✔️]
"folder4" [ ]
"folder5" [ ]
So they were the same.
- Then I added a folder to my Apple TV and it looked like this:
(Apple TV)
"folder1" [✔️]
"folder2" [✔️]
"folder2b" [ ]
"folder3" [✔️]
"folder4" [ ]
"folder5" [ ]
- After the sync of the Apple TV and on the iPhone, the iPhone favorite folders looked like this:
(iPhone)
"folder1" [✔️]
"folder2" [✔️]
"folder3" [ ] <--- checkmark missing
"folder4" [ ]
"folder5" [ ]
So the checkmark disappeared on the third position, where - on the Apple TV - I added a new favorite folder (without a checkmark).
It seems the checkmark-information got synced, but not the favorite folder itself.
This is all such a weird behaviour, I find it really hard to see any patterns of the problem.
I really wish there were some kind of log file to understand what’s going on.
