Constant connection error messages (mostly errors 60 and 61 of operation timed out or connection refused).

I can’t watch a video without it crashing / freezing after a few minutes. If anyone has fixed this or a similar problem, I would really appreciate hearing from you as this is really frustrating. I’m running a Vista PC with a DSL wireless router. These are the errors I get:

  1. An error occurred; Could not open dir [smb://] Reason: operation timed out (60).
  2. An error occurred; Could not open dir [smb://] Reason: connection refused (61).
  3. Playback error. An error occurred loading this content.
  4. An error occurred. Could not open dir [smb:// ]. Reasons: Invalid argument (22).
  5. Playback error. Cannot establish connection to network.

I’m pasting below the text of the support ticket I submitted with further tech details.

Thanks,
ND

Please help! ATV is unable to stream video wirelessly from my computer without freezing / crashing. This never used to happen to me, but it’s so bad now I don’t even bother using it, I just connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI (which defeats the purpose of having an ATV for me). I sat down this afternoon and tried to play files, and rebooted / restarted various things, and wrote down the various results and error messages received. As detailed below, there were 5 different error messages, appearing at least once:

Computer: Dell Studio 1555, 32 bit Windows Vista Home Premium, SP2

Would you mind sending in a bug report?

Hi James, I did so on Saturday (both a support ticket and a diagnostic report).

Has there been any update or resolution to this?  I’ve been having the exact same issue for about 2 weeks now.

Love to know how to fix this as well. Been having this issue for weeks. Drives me nuts. I can remote into my pc (windows 7) with tablet but appletv 2. same list of errors as original poster. Only fix is to reboot pc and is ok for a day then stops again.

still no update or suggest fix besides resetting my pc?
