Connect to Trakt Not Working for Pro Account

Hi,

This has now become a common issue for me. I have a long time Infuse Pro account purchased on my UK account. At the time that was the only account I had. Since I moved to Turkey, I started using a Turkish apple account too. I have been using for a long time the “Trakt login” for using my Pro licence on my apple machines. Usually my settings is as follows:

  1. On the ipads and phones: Logged in with the UK account but for subscriptions I use the Turkish account. Logged in with Trakt.

  2. On the Macs - mostly just the UK account but logged in with Trakt too.

  3. On the Apple TV - Turkish account with logged in Trakt.

This worked without problems until very recently. Now, I constantly have problems with the Apple TV and the ipad. I was caught off guard on a long international flight recently and I could not watch anything (all HDR files) as infuse warned to “upgrade to pro”.

Is there a work-around for this James as it has become annoying.

Best wishes.

Yaman

Trakt sharing can be used to share a purchase between regions, but a key thing to keep in mind is that a device that is logged into the original purchasing App Store account must remain connected and active for the sharing to continue. If you have an Apple TV one easy way to do this is to create a secondary profile and log in to your UK account.

Doing this will allow the UK account’s purchase to be automatically shared with all other profiles on the Apple TV (even if they are in a different region) and should also allow the sharing to be more reliable to other devices.

Also, I am not sure how many devices you are using but there is a 10 device limit for sharing via Trakt.

Many thanks James. Here is some further info:

  1. We have less than 10 devices but this is new information for me to keep in mind.
  2. In any case, I also tried the “revoke Infuse" access” through Trakt which resets all the Trakt connected devices and requires them to login again.
  3. Most of my devices are logged into the primary UK account but for subscriptions they are set for Turkey account. In this setup, “Trakt login” is requred even though the primary account is UK and even though I can update Infuse through the UK account (account details have been entered into appstore).
  4. Even then, I have the problems described above.
  5. Please note that I am a long time fan of Infuse but never been a fan of Trakt. I was forced to use it because of the licence issues. In the past, it was enough to do what I described above in number 3 - swith to UK account, download and set Infuse and then switch back to the Turkey account. This is now broken.
I will now try what you suggest even though the family household (3) switch accounts on the Apple TV because each has their own particular apps. But I believe Infuse should look into this issue further as Trakt has become unreliable.
One final question: If I do, as you suggest, and have the secondary UK account with Infuse formore reliable licence sharing, should I also login to Trakt and/or icloud on that secondary profile or not? icloud becomes an issue because the Turkey profile uses the Turkish icloud account. I am not sure if I also add Trakt into the equation….

I am still having problems with licensing. I am planning to start from scratch. How do I remove the Infuse licence from Apple TV. Deleting does not seem to remove the licence.
