Collection names replaced with Numbers on 7.4.1

Just sent,

5G48T

We’re still looking into this, and have prepared a debug build available via TestFlight which will allow us to collect more info as to what may be causing this.

Please let me know if you would would willing to install this build and send in a quick report, as it would be super helpful. Thanks!

Hey guys - as of this morning this issue seems to be resolved for me. Just did a quick scan thru my collections folder and everything appears to now have names.

Great to hear!

There was another issue which seems to have been related to a temporary issue at TMDB.

For those still seeing issues, you can try running the ‘Refresh Metadata’ option in Settings > Library. Doing this will pull down fresh copies of all metadata, which could help. Note: This is not the same as clearing all metadata, and is a much quicker process.

All sorted for me too. Everything back to normal, and did not need to refresh metadata first (maybe it did it in the background automatically).

On a similar(ish) matter, do you guys plan to add the ability to add custom artwork to custom collections? At the moment it’s just a collection of artwork tiles taken from the titles in the collection, so it doesn’t look great.

Already running in the Suggestions forum here.

Don’t forget that you need to click the like button on the first post in that thread to show your support for this suggestion!

Just did ‘Refresh Metadata’ again (I did it before posting for the first time) and I still see numbers for all the collections.

So you’re seeing numbers for ALL collections? Could you post a screen shot of this like @r0cksteadydrew did above?

Also, how big is your movie library?

Are all of your collections showing as numbers?

Are the numbers shown in your screen cap only collections since you’re in the “All Movies” library or are you seeing individual movies also as numbers?

Have you tried restarting the ATV and doing a refresh metadata?

  • As far as I can see, all collections are showing as numbers.
  • Individual movies are showing correctly with their normal titles. Also if I enter into a collection, I see the names of all of the collection movies correctly.
  • I tried restarting the ATV and doing a refresh metadata with the same result.

One other thought, on one of the collections that is showing numbers go into it and select each movie and do an edit metadata and re-select the correct movie. Do that for all of the movies in one of the collections and see if it may get that one collection back.

I just tried this suggestion and it worked for one collection, but not for the next one I tried. But then I saw that when I long press directly on the collection number in the Movies list, there is an option “Refresh”. If I choose this I get the collection title back. So with this I can fix the problem.

I just hope this doesn’t happen again. :grinning:

Just sent my diagnostics, code 4TRV2. I am on the latest official version, still got the problem, tried both refresh and clear Metadata.

Any news on this? Updated to latest official version and still got the same issue. Do I have to wait for the next official version? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried this?

Yup, no luck still…
