I’m trying to figure out why I get buffering all the time with my Chromecast(Gen 1). 5 seconds on 2 second buffer on a loop. I have AC router about 15-20 feet away, use iPhone X. When using Netflix I can play 1080p fine making me think my download link is good between Chromecast and router. I do a speed test with phone at it gets 50/50 which is my ISP rating so I’m assuming the wifi link is equal or greater. My NAS is hardline and have no issues on others devices or Apple TV over wireless. I believe most my files are h264 and mkv. I could upgrade my Chromecast but I’m not sure that will fix my problem. Any recommendations? I prefer to not have to buy another Apple TV.
Well, gen 1 only had wireless n so that may make a difference. This is based on info I dug up on the interweb so it could be off.
Honestly, if it was me I’d go for the ATV since it has other pluses too.
