Agreed. I get why Netflix and others ask because they don’t want to pay for the bandwidth if nobody’s actually watching. …but Infuse is playing off my NAS and only using my local network’s bandwidth. If I want to leave something playing all day without interruption, I should be able to do so.

I doubt it: my other feature request is at ~60 and has been dead just as long.
That one had the dubious distinction of being briefly scheduled, and has since been stuck in “Postponed” purgatory for a year or three.
I can’t be too mad, the stuff they’ve added in the interim is also stuff that seems worthwhile to others (if not me personally), but the reality is that this request is just in an awkward position where there’s clearly (some) demand, but there will never be enough to push it to the top of the queue.
It sucks, but it is what it is. On the bright side, while writing this I finally found the “mute notifications” option

Not only does it make sense as the Plex client and others have this, but when continuous play keeps playing long after the TV’s sleep timer has shut off, the media server’s disks are constantly in use for no reason.
A workaround for the time being was suggested and while it will work, it’s still not the correct solution (IMO). That workaround is to enable HDMI CEC between the TV and ATV and when the TV shuts off (or ATV goes to sleep) the episode being played is paused.
The issue with this solution is that the episode is in a state of pause when the ATV wakes up and you have to hit menu, then find the episode you actually want to play. The much better solution is to have the episode stop playing and Infuse return to the list of episodes, highlighting the episode in which you last initiated playback.
Would love to see a feature “Are you still watching” prompt after blank continuous uninterrupted playback of episodes. Let us either turn on or off this feature and also select 2,3,4 or 5 episodes until prompt comes up and we need to select yes within 30seconds before playback is closed.

bringing this to 2026, would love some form of feature like this. My TV doesn’t support CEC and apple tv runs all night with the TV off

This is now available in Infuse 8.3.9. 
Is it something that can be turned OFF ?
Yes. There is a setting in Infuse > Settings > Playback.
How the setting named? The closest I see is ‘Wake me up’, but I find the name odd.
That’s the current name, but it’s being renamed to ‘Inactivity Check’ in the next update.
