Unfortunately you can’t change the poster for a (custom) collection…
Hello everyone. Can I change the poster of a collection? I know that we can change the poster of a movie by placing a .jpg image in the same folder as the movie, but is there a way to change the poster of a collection, whether it´s automatically grouped or created by us?
Not yet but I moved your post to a thread in the suggestions forum requesting that feature.

Hello and good Sunday, why when I create collections I am not able to have a linked image for the file created, such as my Harry Potter folder, I would like to be able to have a folder image (like Harry Potter collection ) is it possible?
Thanks

3 posts were split to a new topic: Why No Series Poster?
Is it still not possible to choose my own collection poster?
And I can tell you from the future you still won’t be able to do this in May of 2024.
I noticed that this feature plan has been removed from the latest suggestion list, does it mean we won’t have this feature on planned future anymore?
Still listed as planned.
But CRAZY its not been tackled in the past two years since the (edit: custom collection) feature was introduced and users immediately complained about not being able to replace the tacky eyesore of the auto generated poster images. In a piece of software where other parts of the UI have long supported support for users’ custom images, Firecore’s willful disregard of this (and other seemingly simple fixes to obvious design oversights present in previous feature upgrades — such as their still refusing to dedicate an afternoon to restoring the season picker to the TV episode up-next list) is just absurd.
I’m a very, very patient person but the allocation of resources and constantly changing priorities at Firecore make absolutely no sense to me.
Sorry — I’ve conflated my rants above with this similar issue — the request to change the CUSTOM Collection Artwork the Infuse generates its own ugly posters for. Firecore rolled out the custom-collection feature two years ago.
The wait for Firecore to give users the ability to change the TMDB-supplied covers (the specific request of this thread) has actually been ongoing much longer than that (since Firecore switched to TMDB as their metadata provider and users began accessing TMDB collections) …
This thread is now over SEVEN years old.
I do suspect that it might actually be more difficult to change the TMDB-sourced covers than the custom collection ones; given the way Infuse coded Collections and TV series; and is dependent on TMDB for providing the images.
I similarly suspect Firecore should more easily be able to encode a photo picker into their own collection feature since it is entirely self-generated, and not dependent on any TMDB API. Firecore allows users to assemble the collections themselves, and generates the ugly thumbnails themselves; so why is it so difficult to give the user a place to put a poster on their server or program a photo-picker (already used elsewhere) into the collection GUI?
In any case, my apologies for any inadvertent confusion.
