This is my first post on this forum and I really hope You can help me hee with Your mighty advices;) Soooo:
I bought recently appleTV 2 and decided to jailbreak it - got fireCore with lifetime support etc and did everything exactly as it is stated on this website - unfortuately didn’t make it thru jailbreaking process;(
Here are the steaps that I am following:
Do not have iTunes running
Do not have ATV connected to either power or USB
Run Seas0nPass and wait until it prompts you to Connect USB and then press and hold MENU and Plan/Pause for 7 seconds
Plug in ATV2 into USB and hold down MENU and Play/Pause for 7 seconds
Got stocked right after iTunes supposed to recognize appleTV in DFU mode and put jailbroken files into it - iTunes doesn’t open automaticly and an error pops up: “error entering DFU mode” - or something simular… Tried to do it again but I simply cant:( appleTv doesn’t work now at all, all I get is iTunes logo with a white wire on TV screen, but when plug it in into PC nothing happens;(
iTunes doesn’t see appleTV, unless i plug in power cord- I even tried to restore it using iTunes original restoration facility but it stops on “prepering appleTV to being restore” and thats it.
Can it be micro usb cable fault since when I plug it in iTunes doesnt recognize it? (led light is flashing but not rapidly - slowly instead)
step 2 is were the mistake is you have to have the micro usb plug into the atv then u open season pass and let it do it’s magic. make sure the light is flashing when you connect the micro usb to the unit if it isn’t just plug the power cord in for a second then remove it.
Got it all sorted:) Seems like a micro USB cable was a problem itself:/ did a whole process with Kindle micro USB and everything went well:) after pluging it in iTunes open automaticly and a led light was flashing rapidly - not slowly as before:)

Anyway, no biggie I thought, got the latest version of Season pass, went through the jailbreak process - iTunes finishes its restore, Season pass says Done with a big check mark…but when I plug the ATV back into the TV it looks stockNo firecore logo or anything and ATV(Black) says that it’s not jailbroken!

Not new to jailbreaking ATV2 however i tried jailbreaking an ATV2. I own 3 ATV2’s jailbroke 2 but the last one isnt responding. The unit will not go into DFU mode. When i connect it to the TV it shows the iTunes Logo with a cable running to it. I have restored it to factory. I’ve even tried holding down the option key while selecting restore in iTunes but only results in a 1604 error message. I’ve tried to hold down the Menu and Down buttons for 6 seconds and then switching from the Down arrow to the play button while still holding the Menu button all to no avail. Does anyone have an idea where i’m going wrong?
