This may be a simple question, however, it’s new to me and I am learning a lot.
1. Can you downgrade an Apple TV2 from 6.0.X to 5.3 IF you do NOT have a saved firmware for that device?
2. Of course, I would want this to be untethered.
If you simply jailbreak with the latest SeasonPass it wil install the 5.3 untethered jailbreak.
Keep in mind this is only possible while Apple is still signing 5.3 In other words, time is of the essence.

no one has done this with success - ifaith saves only till 6.1.3 not 6.1.4 which is 5.3 on atv2
Not true. I have 5.3 saved blobs which were saved locally and on cydia servers about 6 months ago using iFaith. So it is or was possible.
do they appear as 5.3 when you check save firmwares on your atv?
or do they appear in ifaith when you select ‘show available shsh on server’?
as i know ifaith shows a message that the blobs where uploaded to cydia but they are not shown on the server!
but maybe it WAS possible 6 month ago…

They appear in iFaith’s SHSH Cache Server. Strange that it would be possible back then and not now. Perhaps they are able to be saved prior to jailbreaking, but I’m really not sure.

If iFaith is not the way to go to back-up your SHSH Blob, what is the best to do this? I don’t want to use Tiny Umbrella, when I download and select decline for all there add-on software, you get it anyway and you have to kill the tasks to get out of it!

for me at the moment nothing has worked succesful… 
You can always download iFaith (believe it’s 1.5.9 as of this post) and you can download all signed blobs and save them on your hard drive for safe keeping. Apparently you can also save them to Cydia & other servers, but honestly I never got that to work for me.
It worked for me, and I even created tested it to create a presigned IPSW of 5.3 and it worked (although that wasn’t jailbroken).

Very jealous you were able to upload your shsh files SOMEWHERE. It always says “succeeded” for me but then I never see it on the dang server. Serioulsy bugs the crapola out of me.
