Can’t FTP to apple TV after adding new ones on the network

I have had silver apple TV working with aTV Flash for a few years now, last week I  added a new black apple TV

and another silver one to my network and now I  can’t FTP to my original apple TV anymore.Trying everything

I  updated aTV flash to 4.5 still no good, then I  had a brain wave and thought maybe the two new ones were confusing

things so I  disconnected them both but still no good…everything works otherwise all apple tv’s can talk to Itunes and see

the internet

This is likely related to how an Apple TV is identified on your network. When only one device is in use it can be accessed using ‘AppleTV.local’. If you add a second device, it will likely have a name like ‘AppleTV-2.local’.

There are 2 ways to resolve this.

  1. Use the Apple TV IP address (visible on the Apple TV in Settings --> General --> Network) in place of AppleTV.local.
  2. Change one of the Apple TV's hostname in nitoTV > Settings > General. Change this from AppleTV to AppleTV-Office or whatever you want. When connecting, just add '.local' to the end of the name you chose to connect. Note: A restart of the Apple TV will be required for the settings to take effect.
