Lately, I’ve been regularly getting a cache error that tells me that the cache has expired and tells me to restart the app. I’ve done this several times, including restarting my Apple TV 4K, but I keep getting the same message. What does this mean, and what can I do about it? Because of this error, I’ve already had to completely reinstall Infuse multiple times, which takes a lot of time. I’m running Infuse 8.4.2.
It still should have some info even if it’s after you restart Infuse after that error unless Infuse is just constantly crashing every time you open it.
Due to the way tvOS works, the system will clear cached data from Infuse (and other apps) if it detects your device is running low on space. We built a cloud backup feature to help keep things running smoothly if/when this happens.
However, if you are getting an ‘expired’ message that means the last backup Infuse created was over 6 months old, and was automatically removed. In theory, it’s possible for this message to appear more than once if the Apple TV cleared its space again before Infuse was able to create a new backup.
What I would try is this.
Open Infuse and set everything up the way you want.
Run a cloud backup manually in Infuse > Settings > Sync > Cloud Backup
More info on using the Cloud Backup feature can be found in this guide.
