There’s a long-standing bug on my Apple TV 4K (2022) that still happens with Infuse version 8.1.7. Every now and then, playback suddenly stops and jumps back, almost as if I had pressed the back button. Sometimes it even starts playing a completely different movie on its own.
This issue has been talked about quite a bit on Reddit, but there’s still no fix.
I tested this using a shared library with a Plex server, and the problem doesn’t happen when using Plex.
Still this issue exists. Is there any solution for this? While watching content, it randomly goes back as if I have pressed back button on apple tv and I have to keep pressing play.
I have disabled AI upscaling, Dolby Vision trying to find if any will resolve the issue. But still encounter same issue on almost all the movies I watch.
If this happens again, please send in a report from your device (and post the code here) so we can look further into what may be going on here. Thanks!
What I have realised is, if cashe setting is set to legacy, movie stops and goes back to orginal state as if I pressed back button when this bug is hit. If cashe setting is memory only, then movie stops buffering at all at some point, and when movie reach that stage, playback is stuck. I cannot rewind after that. My option is to forward movie little bit and then movie starts buffering again or I have to press back button on remote and resume movie again.
