Anywhere in Infuse, when you click on a show, if there is more than one season there’s an episode dropdown.
But if you click or tap on an episode in the “watching” strip at the top, you can only choose that one season.
I feel like this must be a bug, because you can play any episode in that season - so it’s not about only playing the episode being watched.
Is this deliberate behaviour? It’s actually quite annoying, cos if you’re nearing the end of a season, you have to come out of the season display, go into the TV section, select the show and select the season; it doesn’t go straight to the next season as it does if you select it from the list of TV shows
The first attached pic shows an episode of Family Guy selected from “watching”; note there’s no dropdown arrow next to “season 9”. The second pic shows me selecting “Family Guy” from the list of TV shows. Note the dropdown arrow next to the season number ![
Just wanna bump this in case the devs missed it. I really don’t think it’s a feature - if you play from the library it will automatically start the next season but if you play it’s “watching” menu it doesn’t
Please can you look into this? It gets really frustrating cos we always use the “watching” menu and at the end of the season we have to search for the show (which can take a while - we’ve got a lot)
@james please can you help me (and clearly not just me!) understand what your thinking is regarding this being desired/expected behaviour?
if I select a show and watch the last episode of a season, episode one of the following season automatically plays. But if I don’t finish watching it, and then later I select that last episode from the “now watching” section, Infuse doesn’t advance to the next season
I’m asking in a friendly way - I can’t get my head round this being a “solved” issue, or being the behaviour you want the app to show
I know that app designers will have different visions for how they want the app to work, and sometimes even if I hate an aspect of an app, having the dev explain their thinking makes an issue less painful
But as an absolutely huge fan of Infuse, I need to tell you that this is an incredibly frustrating issue, and because of the way humans work, me (and others in my household) always forget that this happens and so we have to do the “go back to the main screen, scroll to the “show all” button to find the show, tap on the show then select the next season” dance. It’s a painful process, and it would be so fantastic if we could change your mind on this.
Thanks for reading, and thanks @strwht for giving me the info - it helps to know I’m not the only one who hates this aspect of infuse
A few years back the watching list did briefly (a few days) work the way you wish it would (but was an accidental change when implementing some other feature … I forget what that was). But it caused lots of people to have crashes, so was very quickly reverted.
I got the impression at that time that the problem is more to do with limitations on how the watching list has been implemented within Infuse, rather than a specific reluctance to provide the feature.
