Buffering

I have problems with buffering. I use wireless from mac to atv2. Atv is 3 meters from mac, all my files are ISO (dvdmedia) files. Share is AFP. Very often i get buffering, sometimes not.

I cant find the problem though because its inconsistent… but very often the movie stops and Atv is buffering för 10-15 seconds… kinda anoying…

Is this a wireless problem? Anyone else have it?

i have tried atv wireless in my bedroom approx 35-40 feet from the router…
have a couple of buffering moments, but overall everything is smooth

Good to hear! Problem is that it has been quite inconsistent. But anyways, i made a restore and then jailbreaked it again and… so far its going great.

The problem could still be a wireless matter… Some iMacs have Airport issues i read somewhere…

coming to think of it… i rejailbroke as well with newer version etc…

it was really like… buffering for 10-15 seconds every 5 minutes… and sometimes playing well…

Another thought that i didnt test was the “relaunch” option under Maintainance… might solve these kind of things to…

Hovewer… will have to do some testing again to see. If it happens again, im pretty sure that it is a wireless issue.

No probs with hdd either… im running the files through a FW800 disc so theres plenty of speed there.

One thing i dont understand is how AFP works… the movies run from the FW800 disc and is shared via AFP from iMac.

My router is setup wireless between iMac and ATV, does the router need to be ON for the AFP share? Or does the AFP share run directly from iMac to ATV without going through the router?

Got similar “buffering” problems; especially with .mkv files larger than 4-5 GB (regular 800 - 1,4 GB divix plays just fine). I Got wire connection timeCapsule - atv 2. Any ideas how to solve this ?
