Boxee beta on AppleTV

This worked for me as well. However, I needed to install “wget” to get the shell script to run…

Follow these instructions http://xbmc.org/forum/showpost.php?s=330b224ee3b4058cbd4e0d878855176d&p=243459&postcount=3 to install “wget” first, then follow the boxee link above and I used the “bleeding edge” install and it worked like a champ.

Note: I first tried downloading the Boxee beta on my Mac and using Pacifist, but I had the same crashing issue mentioned by others. Note: this script will update Firefox, Flash (to 10) and install Silverlight plus others.

The Boxee beta app is great and much improved over the alpha. Grab it, you’ll be happy you did.

Hey guys,

You will have to forgive me as I am a COMPLETE newbee here.  However, I am getting the same error when I try to run Boxee and/or XBMC.  Is it still only a beta?

Thanks in advance for any and all help...again, I am a complete beginner so talk to me like I am a 6 year old :)

"Error: Cannot launch XBMC/Boxee from path:
//Applications/Boxee.app/Contents/MacOS/Boxee"

Before running XBMC or Boxee for the first time you will want to update them to the latest version. This can be done by following the guide here: http://support.firecore.com/entries/259308-xbmc-boxee

Very user friendly...thanks Max.

Question though, what if I don't have access to Leopard 10.4.  The oldest version I have is 10.5.

Thanks again for your help and hard work.
