Better handling of audio/subtitle track dialects

Hi,

I currently have Infuse Pro 7.1 (3742), and i’ve came across the following “issue” on both iOS/aTV (dunno if it happened in previous versions, just noticed this now) :

I’ve setup Infuse to use as Default Subtitle language as “Portuguese (Portugal)” like this :

But when i play a video with several Languages, instead of auto-select the defined Subtitle Language (“Portuguese (Portugal)”) it selects “Portuguese (Portuguese Brazilian)” as shown here :

Any known issue ?

thanks in advance,

br,

Hi,

I still got this “issue” sometimes.

Any known issue ?

tks

Due to technical reasons, there are limitations with how languages with certain dialects are handled.

Moving to suggestions for now.

Infuse is currently unable to distinguish between subtitles in European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese.
In my settings, I have European Portuguese as my default subtitle language but if the Brazilian Portuguese subtitles are first in line in the file list, those are the ones that Infuse chooses, even though the subtitles are specifically named as “Portuguese (Brazil)” and “Portuguese (Portugal)”.
It appears Infuse only recognises the word Portuguese in the subtitles, ignores the rest and chooses the first in the list.
I think it´s something that can be improved.

If your subtitles are in SRT, you must name them correctly: pt-BR for Brazil and pt for Portugal

I didn’t mean srt files. For those I can choose the language when I download them.
I mean subtitles that are already in the mkv/mp4 file, that are part of the file.

I moved your posts to a currently running thread regarding this issue. (Thanks @Rjorge77 :+1:)

This has been frustrating me for quite some time, I’m really not a fan of pt-Br subtitles, so I need to manually change everything to pt-PT. Might as well just change the default subtitle language to en-EN which is probably better lol
