best way for a VIDEO_TS

What is the best way to have a good working VIDEO_TS?:

Have a folder of the original DVD with also the AUDIO_TS folder in it and other stuff?
Only the VIDEO_TS folder? (works better for me, but the I have 10 VIDEO_TS folders and can’t find the right movie:-)

They play better when I don’t use DVD-menu, but how do I select the subtitles then?

If you use Mac the Ripper http://www.mactheripper.org/ each time you rip a movie, it will place all the necessary files into their own folder. The movie 300, would be in a folder called 300. Batman Begins, would be in a folder called Batman Begins, and so on.

You can copy these folders directly to the Apple TV, and play them.

Hi - can a ripped DVD be streamed from a NAS?

I can play VIDEO_TS folders on a network drive (AFP) but playback is not smooth. I see a regular stutter in the image about once a second. Playing the same folder with the drive directly connected via USB is smooth.

So yes, it’s possible, but the result is unsatisfactory.

Any particular place you should put them on the ATV?

All movies should be placed inside the ‘Movies’ directory. If you want to organize your media bit more, you can create sub-directories inside the Movies folder (Westerns, Comedies, TV Shows etc).
