It sure is nice to be able to add files to the server and then later start Infuse and the added files are already there. Really cuts down on the wait time when starting Infuse.

Nope, sorry not related in any way shape or form.
I would assume background file indexing would solve my issue as well. That way when I started playback of an in-process download, the file could be re-indexed and thus not get stuck at the point of download when I started playback.

Does anyone know if this background indexing process also happens with Plex shares?
I have devices that access SMB shares and they are updated in background. But devices with Plex shares are only indexed when I open Infuse.
