I’ve been using PlexAutoSkip to automatically skip intros on my Apple TV with the Plex player, is there something similar in Infuse? I see that there’s an infuse API but from what I understand it only allows playing a file, not seeking to a particular time-code.

Isn’t that just the skip intro feature? What I was talking about was automatically skipping the intro when it’s detected (ie. when the button appears). It’s something that’s possible with the Plex API (although hacky).

We indeed need the auto-skip feature. Currently, Infuse can recognize Plex’s intro and outro markers, showing a skip button, but it requires manual user input to skip. We require an automatic skipping feature where users don’t need to click; if markers exist, it should skip automatically.

It would be great to implement it. The Plex client on non Apple devices is already auto skipping.
I hope you could add a feature for automatically skipping intros and outros in TV shows.
For some TV shows, the intro and outro are fixed. Currently, I use Siri to skip them for every episode.
It would be great if it can be detected automatically. Otherwise, could you add an option where we can set to auto skip the first or last few minutes of all episodes for a specific TV show? e.g., we can set how many minutes to skip at the beginning and end separately for different shows, and 0:00 means the auto skip is off.

I’m not sure how it works, but Plex supports this and the feature works within Infuse if you’re playing files from a Plex share.
Regardless, I agree that this should be a native feature within Infuse. I wish whatever database Plex uses to scrape intro/credit duration would be integrated within Infuse too!

Like someone said Plex supports this and this also works in Infuse. You get a “skip intro” button at the beginning and a “skip credits” button at the end just like most streaming services. This obviously requires you to use the Plex integration in Infuse and also requires a paid Plex pass. I love this feature so much it’s the reason I bought a lifetime Plex pass.
The OP is asking about “Auto” skipping intros. This would be a great feature, Plex has this on their Android app but weirdly not on the ATV app.

The latest Plex betas (TestFlight) have finally enabled auto skipping intros/credits for Apple devices too. Hopefully Infuse catches up. I hope the next update is a real QOL update and not just an UI update. Lots of suggestions on here have been created years ago and missing QOL features can be a hindrance when looking to move away from the Plex player.

Hey James, I asked this before but didnt get an answer. Now that Plex added AUTO skip intros to all apple devices… is this something that can be implemented into infuse?
