How does auto refresh of the library works? I’m having difficulty to understand, it’s seldomly automatic, every time I need to click on the refresh button when I add content.
I use a Mac mini M1 with WebDAV NAV Server and an Apple TV. My wife watches on the iPad Pro (family sharing, different Apple ID) and for instance a show I added this afternoon was not showing in Infuse on her iPad tonight, but was there on the Apple TV.
The ATV has power even during sleep and the tvOS allows for background app refreshing. I’m not sure the ipad will refresh in the background unless it’s being charged.
You may want to check the background app refresh settings on the iPad and what apps are allowed to use it.
I thought about it, I will check the option on iPad Pro.
But what about Apple TV, is the library refreshed every minute?
I don’t think it’s every minute, it’s more determined on when the OS allows it to referesh when it’s not in the foreground and when it’s in the foreground I think it checks when you open the app and the maybe 30 minutes if there isn’t other traffic.
Well, I do have to constantly wait to refresh content. It’s a first world problem but everything is super fast with WebDAV and my connection.
And that’s on all devices.
Refresh is sloooooooow. Always been and it seems worse lately.
Why, though?
I don’t understand why the library is not refreshed automatically in the background, it’s weird. Every time I open Infuse I need to click that button. 30% of the time, content is not properly refreshed.

Apple controls the background app refresh and what app and when it can use it.
Infuse will perform a scan automatically when the app is first started and every 15 minutes if the app is left open and idle. You can also trigger an immediate scan by clicking the Refresh icon in the upper right corner of the home screen.
A refresh take sometimes more than a minute and is not conclusive. I have to restart the Apple TV.
I made a confusion, my apologies. The library is updating fast, my issue is the “watchlist”, you know the first thing you see when you open Infuse, under home. This one never gets updated. It’s always manually, am I missing something?
