Audio track selection

Am I misunderstanding how the default audio track should work? I have my Audio default set to English. I downloaded something that had a French Audio track and also an English one. When Infuse plays it I get the French one and have to manually change it to the English one.

My expectation is that having told Infuse that my Audio preference is English, that if an English track exists that should be chosen over any other tracks that are there.

Did you check to see if the French track was forced?

I’m not talking about subtitles, there is 2 audio tracks French and English. My preference in Infuse is English, so why would it play the French one instead?

Audio tracks can have the “Forced” flag just like subtitles, pop the file into Mediainfo and check.

If it is, use mkvtoolnix to to alter the header and remove the “Forced” flag

Assuming the French track was “Forced”, my preference is set to English not Auto. If an English track exists then regardless of any other settings the English track should be used. I do not expect to have to select it manually, after already applying my global preference in the settings.

Forced as the name implies overrides Default.

Again to confirm this load the file in MediaInfo. If it is indeed set to “Forced” use mkvtoolnix to edit the header and remove the “Forced” tag while leaving the audio tracks present.
