Sometimes, when playing a file on Apple TV, the audio suddenly cuts out. To get it back, I usually have to rewind a few seconds or stop and start the playback again—rewinding seems to be the easiest way to restore the sound.
I read a comment on here about random audio drop outs, I just had the same happen to me last night and again today. Pressing back 10 seconds restores the audio but it is annoying.
James, I have just had this happen while watching a TV show using Bluetooth Headphones (so not using the HomePods). Same scenario, audio goes, rewind 10 seconds, audio comes back and continues to play fine.
It’s holidays in Spain, so I won’t be at home till Monday. I will try then to send the report.
As a separate issue, sometimes when you pause the video, and later you want to hit play again, the Play button on the remote controller won’t work. You have to hit the Mute button and it works as if it was the play button. It’s strange…
The same thing (a random audio dropout) happened to me for the first time yesterday while watching a 4K SDR file and using AirPlay for audio output (not to HomePods, but to a pair of Sonos speakers in my case).
