Audio distortion on e-ac3 Dolby Atmos playback

I am using an Apple TV 4K (1st gen) running tvOS 26.0.1 with the latest version of Infuse Pro 8.3 (5401). On certain Dolby Atmos files with e-ac3 audio (for example, Dolby’s own “Leaf” and “Amaze” demo tracks) the audio plays back with clearly audible clicks, buzzing and distortion.

This is a new phenomenon. I quite frequently use the Dolby demo tracks to test my AVR / Home Cinema system after making tweaks and I have never heard this before. The DAtmos display shows on my AVR so the amp is decoding the tracks correctly. I have checked the settings within Infuse and also tested the same tracks using Plex on a FireStick 4k device – they play back fine on that device.

Other Dolby Atmos soundtracks (for example streaming content on Netflix or Apple TV+) play back without any issues, so this doesn’t seem related to any device settings or issues with the hardware itself, as far as I can see.

I don’t know whether this was introduced after a tvOS update, or an Infuse update, but it’s very puzzling.
