Hey thats not bashing and we like the feedback, honest answer is yes you may find 1 day sales and be able to purchase the parts to put it together your self cheaper. Currently on new egg you can’t buy that combo for that price, the motherboard is right now 125 + 20 for ram + 50 for your ssd + 25 for the case= $200, you will also need a POWER SUPPLY (this is not included with motherboards and is usually $50), remote and wifi. it is important we also compare the same motherboard as many motherboards don’t allow for ubuntu and only work with windows which will add another $100 to the price. This is also something you need to assemble your self and install all the software your self, this can be quite daunting for the average person.
Reason our price is what it is, we include a high quality remote, wifi, ubuntu and xbmc preinstalled, assemble and package the units, we offer support, we have to market the unit, pay our employees, we also need to make a profit as well.

if you have a tower computer and don’t mind putting it next to the tv, this product isn’t for you.
If you don’t mind buying the parts online separately and assembling the unit you may save some money, it may cost more but there is fun/value in assembling something your self and this product isn’t for you.

Yes is runs ice films, navi x, 1channel no problem. live tv through navi x however will crash xbmc, we are actively looking for how to correct this problem. The box does not need to be rooted and xbmc is preinstalled, you will simply need to install your add ons.
Why would I buy the RAW device when I can run Linux XBMC on the Pivos Box? They are the only ones that have H/W acceleration working with the AM-Logic parts. What is the VPU in your box? You only mention the AMD processor.
Well I’m not using AM-Logic parts, mine is not based on android. My VPU is AMD Radeon HD6310. If you really want to experience the difference between my box and a apple or android unit simply install xbmc onto your pc or mac, the speed and stability is night and day difference, thus the comment above if you don’t mind putting a tower beside your tv then this isn’t for you. Like mentioned prior I have a large assortment of boxes here that we tested, xios being one of them, anyone who has experienced xios can attest side by side to the apple it is inferior, side by side with my Raw its inferiority is even more magnified. What can really be said about my box is that it is heavily over powered for using XBMC, that is the way we designed it. Yes we could have saved a few more dollars and made a cheaper product that is running at 100% capacity but we didn’t want that. That type of system becomes antiquated very quickly, case in point Xios, since the launch of XBMC they announced they were working on new hardware which could better run the software, therefore everyone investing in a Xios today will need to repurchase in the short future.
Your PM mentioned regarding my friend did tested one of your RAW and he was very impressed. He also tested side by side Apple TV1 and ATV2 and RAW is outstanding performance and played all those HD and 3D movies went without buffered and tons of memory in RAW so your box is impressive.
He will be calling you to buy those Android Sticks for himself so you will hear from him.

I am sorry, you are wrong. My friend has tested this RAW and just too many features are on RAW which is impossible to run on ATV2 or ATV3. I will wait for Christmas Sale…
Nettops like raw media are in market from long time, this just comes pre installed and price is not that bad. Is raw media is using 8GB USB stick or Sd card? Is it fanless?
xbmc-linux on pivos runs 1080P and 3D as smooth as on AMD or better ( I have both).
As I said before nettops were there from long. The only reason people move to ARM based atv, pivos etc is for there small form factor (very portable), fanless (no noise) and above all very low power consumption so you can leave them on 24x7.
And see sooner pivos and xbmc frodo get final release, this raw media shop will be first to sell it or other equivalent box with pivos firmware on it.
There is nothing wrong in selling pre-configured boxes and charge for that service and time. But I personally don’t like that initially you guys were selling ATV and advertising that jailbreak is legal. Now atv2(BNIB) are not available easily so you guys move to other big size box and start advertising that jailbreak is illegal and pivos is no good. I know when you guys will move to pivos, then same raw media will start advertising that nettops are not portable, they have driver problems, there fan make lot of noise, they consume more power, that remote was too big and they are not eco friendly.
Check raw-media forum. people there have lots of problems, except one or two posters.
It is using a 8GB SSD, it does have a fan but a very quiet one :)
We don’t advertise apple tvs for sale nor do we advertise that the jailbreak is legal. In Canada jail breaking is now considered illegal due to bill c-11 since this summer, prior to that it was legal. I think you might be mistaking my company for the some of the distributors. We don’t control what they advertise nor what they sell besides our product. IMO pivos is not a good alternative to the average user, it is fun and exciting to play with if you are a seasoned vet but even then its performance is lacking, i purchased a Xios the day xbmc announced it was available for it and i can guarantee my unit runs better. First rule of sales is to never bash anything you are going to sell or have sold, that being said we don’t bash apple tv’s it is how I personally got started, if you do read my past posts about android I do say 1 day it may get to where it needs to be but right now it is sub par. Will our product line expand in the future and perhaps carry an android model? Maybe, I can’t say for sure, what I can say is I am a founding sponsor of OUYA and will be receiving that box next month We are very happy with our product, I think everyone can agree the worst thing about the apple tv remote is it is too small, I’ve lost 2 of them, the Raw remote is larger and has a full keyboard, I personally love it. Our box is a quality product and even if we changed to a android in the future it would not be for better for performance, I would not feel 1 stitch of guilt for selling any of my clients my current box as I know it is a winner.
Im intrigued by the “check raw-media forum” our forum hasn’t launched yet and there isn’t any complaints about our product. Just like any other company we have had to do a few exchanges due to manufacturer defect but we don’t argue with our clients, I am more than happy to personally take clients phone calls and we give impeccable customer service. In fact when I was selling apple tv’s personally I did free updates even 1 year later.
The jail breaking business has 2 types of sellers, one who is in it for the quick cash, uses a throw away phone, meets in parking lots and offers little to no tech support. These were often the cheap ads who yelled blue murder at anyone charging over $50 for the service.
I was in it for the long haul, I used my personal phone of 13 years, I would offer free in home installs or they could pick up from my house and even come in and have a demo, i even set up a 1-855 number for tech support so my clients didn’t have to pay long distance charges to call me. I was the most expensive in the market by far, I would charge upwards of $150 for my service. My clients were happy to pay it, I often had to fix shoddy workmanship from my competitors and I would hear the horror stories of how people had to pay the other guys the $50 fee every time something went wrong or it needed an update. I provide the best service bottom line, but it comes at a price. When Eden beta 1 had the youtube glitch, competitors clients called me asking how much to fix the problem, I simply told them how to update xbmc to beta 2, I’m not into ripping people off.
I mention all of this to illustrate my character, I won’t sell something I dont believe in, nor will I leave a customer high and dry, there is no forum with “lots of problems” nor is there clients saying the box “sucks” like the prior post to this one. He didn’t order it from me as I’m sold out until tomorrow and have been for the last 2 weeks, my distributor in Calgary is the only one with stock currently, everyone else is sold out and has troubles keeping it in stock.
I make a good product, there is cheaper and more expensive alternatives, I know my clients and i keep in touch with them many of them are on my BBM, if you do have the product and are unsatisfied please call or email me so I can help fix the problem although I highly doubt these new accounts with first time posts have my product. XBMC and its add ons are open source, the idea being that a community of like minded individuals will come together on their own time to create and help each other. The sad thing is you see so much ■■■■■■■■, complaining and hating of each other and each others contributions. I made my product for the individuals whom want to experience xbmc and all it has to offer but don’t have either the technical know how or time to create their own box. It is in essence a small computer, you will have no more problems using this than you would using any other 1.6 dual core computer to run xbmc running on Ubuntu.
You guys can sell all the stuff you want but whoever sells raw media box for more than $100 is ripping a customer off. This product is garbage and xbmc on it sucks ass!

About help community. why you guys don’t just recommend xbmc forums besides making your own. Can you please share your xbmc forum id so we can see how you and your company software engineers help developing xbmc, drivers, addons, tweaks, patches and guides for community.
You do your business. but please don’t condemn and compare devices backed by developers, whom hard work you are using to make money.

I clearly said I am not responsible for what my distributors advertise. You can cry foul murder all you want, that is not me. I don’t advertise my product with add ons PERIOD. I don’t advertise on websites like kijiji PERIOD. Back to the help community, if you are active on XBMC.org’s forum you will note they don’t talk about 3rd party add ons in there any more, thus the birth of xbmchub. My software engineers xbmc id is private and they don’t wish to share it, they are humble about their contributions and don’t wish to flaunt them, I must respect their request and not share their info.
As for your picture, you do have a lot of boxes but you don’t know what you are talking about, that was proven when you asked me what amlogic parts i was using. your integrity was also brought into question when you made up false accusations about my forum. I have also read all of your prior posts on this forum, all are questions regarding apple tv 2’s and your inability to overcome the simplest of problems when jail breaking them. The posts come at various dates apart suggesting that you are jailbreaking multiple units. It is increasingly more obvious that you sell a competing box in Edmonton, thus why you have such a plethora of android samples and multiple Xios units (one is in the back left of the picture hooked up to the tv) Further more the ubuntu operating system and xbmc running on it is backed by both xbmc and ubuntu as xbmc announced it was accepted into debian.
It is my suspicion you are Imran aka “Sam Apple”, located out of Edmonton Alberta Canada.
If you have a problem with how the distributor advertises THEIR products i suggest you contact them directly, i believe all their ads have phone numbers. But I’m sure you already have his number, he used to sell your apples until you screwed too many people over. Oh and why don’t you tell everyone how you sent me a distributor request form which I ignored as I don’t want you reselling my product as you have such a bad reputation.

And why do I want become your distributer in case I want to sell boxes, same ‘nettop’ aka raw-media is available from chinese seller for much less and I am using xbmc-linux, crystallbuntu and openelec etc from years.
About my boxes, even they look same, but there is only one pivos in picture and all other white ones are different models (look picture closely).
You proved that you and your so called engineers have nothing to share and contribute to community except advertizing your cheap ugly chinese box and remote.
Be man and don’t condemn companies like pivos who sponsor xbmc and main developers work. You can sell your boxes without condemning or comparing others from where you started and will end up.
Or made your own media center software and then say that your box and system is better then xbmc and other xbmc boxes.
