ATV1 Updates Lifecycle

How long do you plan to continue creating updates and enhancements for the Apple TV gen 1?

I am considering purchasing one, but want to ensure that I will be able to receive updates and improvements into the future.  With the gen2, and now the gen 3 systems out, I would just like to know if (or when) support for the gen 1 will reach end of life.

I am not too sure but last update was Dec 14, 2011.

 

Considering Apple TV 1 is turning into a fossil I won’t say it will be supported as much as the black version.

I too will go with ATV2 or ATV3 if there will be no updates available for ATV1.
