Hi,
it seems that aTV Flash (Black) 2.0 Media Player does not wake a Mac running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 from sleep when accessing it via AFP.
As far as I remember, this used to work in the past.
The machine will power up though if it receives a WakeOnLan (WOL) packet from another host, but not if Mediaplayer 2.0 tries to access it via AFP.
Cheers,
Olaf

Can you check to ensure the ‘Wake for network access’ option is checked in your Mac’s System Preferences > Energy Saver menu?

Hi James,
yes, “Wake for network access” is checked.

This is also one of my main annoyances with media player.
My iMac is setup to wake on network activity under energy settings.
Both devices are connected via ethernet once i walk to my mac it is then able to connect.
If i try to connect to my iMac using my Macbook the iMac wakes up fine, this works even if the iMac has been asleep for days.

You may try removing and re-configuring the share in question. It’s possible that if the share was setup prior to Wake-on-Lan support being added in version 1.6 (early June) the existing share may not be able to wake the device.
Ive tried that which still did not work.

Hi James,
sorry for the delay: I did try removing and re-adding the share but unfortunately that did not help: the Mac does not wake up on access.
Am I supposed to see a WOL package whenever I access a share in Mediaplayer?
Cheers,
Olaf
