Hi all,
I have been using Infuse for a yr-2yrs at this point and have largely no comlaints (only made an account here for this post lol!). I have always been able to navigate through my library using arrow keys (e.g. Clicking into Season 1 of a show, I can then use my left/right arrow keys to scroll through each episode, as opposed to manually clicking each one). Similarly, I could navigate through all of the various parts of my home screen (Recently Added, Watching, Picks of the Day, etc) all in the same way (clicking into one entry and then going back and forth with left/right arrow keys) and then hitting the “return” key to play the selected file. However, this is no longer working as it should/how I used this feature previously (perhaps keyboard navigation for library has changed in some way?).
From the main page of any series, movie, etc, nothing on my keyboard has ANY functionality in Infuse besides the ESC key which backs me out. I am confused as to why this is no longer working, has Infuse (consciously or otherwise) decided to sunset it, or is there a new setting I’m missing somewhere? I haven’t changed any of my equipment (mouse, trackpad, computer, hard drive) since initially starting to use Infuse so I’m not sure why this change in behavior has occurred?
This was one of my favorite features in Infuse, as it let me effectively only need my keyboard for navigation and playback, so I would love if someone could replicate/provide a fix or explanation! All relevant soft/hard and expected/observed behaviors below! Thanks all for your help in advance!
Infuse: v8.3.9 (updated to latest release per my understanding)
Library: Everything is attached through 2 external HDD hard drives, a 5TB LaCie, and a 2TB WD
macOS: Tahoe 26.3
Computer: Mac Studio 2023
Accessories: Apple Magic Keyboard (2023(i think?) version w/ touchID if that’s relevant) and Magic Trackpad
Expectation: From the attached page for “Mickey 17”, I expect that clicking the right arrow key should bring me to the page for “Russian Ark”, while clicking the left arrow key should bring me to “Arco”. If I were on (for example, since I can’t upload 2 pics) a “Curb Your Enthusiasm” Episode page, I expect that the right arrow key will take me to the next episode in the season and the left arrow key to take me to the previous one in the season. Also, I expect that hitting the “return” key on any of these pages (movie or TV episode) should begin playback.
Behavior: When clicking any of the left/right/return keys, nothing happens, as if my hands didn’t touch the keyboard at all. The only behavior which is maintained from my previous usage history/expectation is that the “esc” key kicks you to the home page. Strangely, there is also no warning tone as plays when I click the “delete” key, for example. I have confirmed that all three of these keys (and in fact all keys) on my keyboard work so that has been ruled out! There are no other issues, beside the lack of functionality for keyboard inputs, so would appreciate some help on that!!
