Apple tvOS has buffer, MacOS does not

I noticed streaming from a WebDAV share is working great on my Apple TV and a large portion of the video file is loaded in the buffer/cache quickly as seen from the progress bar. On my Macbook this doesn’t seem to be the case, and it is also often buffering. Does the Infuse client behave differently on MacOS and should I adjust anything to make sure it builds up a buffer like it does on the Apple TV? Both devices are on the same network. A speedtest from Infuse to the WebDAV share is comparable between the devices.

You can check the setting for Streaming Cache under the playback settings. That may be the difference.

They are both set to “auto”.

This is what the playback stats look like when the buffering occurs. It it usually near the end of a video. The cache seems to fill when the video starts but it doesn’t cache the entire file. When the video is restarted, the throughput speed is much higher and the cache seems to be filling again.
