Hi, I am trying to understand what is going on with the way folders and in turn episodes are being displayed on the APTV, it is just not consistent and I have no idea why.
I have uploaded a video of my Apple TV in action to show visually what I mean.
At the opening I go to Season 3 Elementary and as you can see I have duplicate episodes displaying, yet, that is not the case if I go to “Opal Hunters” or to the Series “Dark”. I do have other shows that have duplicates as well, but not many.
What is also interesting, is if I use Infuse on my iMac running latest Alpha as below, I do not see the duplicates for “Elementary”, it seems to be only on the Apple TV 4K.
Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?
It appears you have duplicate episodes on two different shares.
If you slow down when looking at an episode you have duplicates of it will tell you which share that copy is located. It looks as though you have one copy of a dup in “Home Theater Mac” and the other on TVSTATION.
Couldn’t be 100% sure since you moved too quick on your video to see for sure but on E24 of Elementary it looks like those are the two shares that each have a copy of that episode.
Hi there, yes, you are 100% correct. I have been watching “Elementary” from two sources in the past. As I was an avid PLEX user before I discovered Infuse, I used to transfer what I was watching at the time across to my Mac Mini (Home Theater Mac) as the Mac Mini was better at playing the episodes as I think my NAS Servers (TVSTATION) and others are getting a little long in the tooth, around 10 years old now. The Mac Mini is around 8 years and seems to have more grunt.
Now that I have committed to Infuse, I do not seem to have the buffering issue at all anymore. As I gain confidence, I will most likely put PLEX on the back burner. I also find Infuse much more responsive.
