Hi im sorry if this is a stupid question but i am new to jailbreak Apple TV’s. I have an Apple TV 2 on 5.2 and want to jailbreak it. I know i cannot just go through firecore because itunes will not sign 5.2 firmware. If anyone can explain how i can jailbreak it or give me a link to instructions that would be perfect! i am jailbreaking using a mac on IOS too and not using windows.

Since Apple are no longer signing the 5.2 release and there is no current jailbreak for the latest 5.2.1 release you have to get shsh blobs for your ATV2 running 5.2 firmware. I am not sure if it is possible to do this on a Mac at the moment! To extract the shsh blobs from the current 5.2 installation and as far as I know you need the iFaith tool for that and currently that is Windows only. Of course someone may tell me I am wrong and there is now a Mac version of iFaith (or an equivalent).
BTW: You mention a Mac on IOS? As far as I know IOS is specific to iPhone/iPad/iPod - did you mean Mac OSX?
