I know you can’t do this via the stock firmware, and I’ve searched through the FireCore related menus and haven’t found anything—but does anyone know a way to gracefully shut down the first generation Apple TV?
I know I can SSH into the box and shut it down from the command line, but I rarely have it “connected” to a network (I use it as a portable media centre in a location without any network).
Are there any plugins available that could run a script from the device itself, or a plugin that’ll already shut the ATV down?
I realize I can “sleep” the device, but since the HDs are still spinning when it goes to sleep, I need a way to shut down completely (so I’m just doing a hard shut down, mucking up the HDs).
