Any way to get around 5Mbps cap?

I just transferred over a few fairly large raw dv files from my old camcorder to the ATV. The files are around 5-10GB each and show up fine in nitoTV, the issue is when I click on them they say the file format is not supported. Opening them up on my Mac I can see they are 720x480 29.97 fps data rate 57.57Mbit/s (which I believe is somewhere around 7Mbps OVER the 5Mbps cap). Is there anything I can do here other than re-encoding/compressing the files?

Thank you for your assistance!

The only option would be to install the Crystal HD video card and play the files through XBMC. More info here: http://forum.atvflash.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2469

Wow, this looks like it might be just the ticket. Quick question…

Will I still be able to play everything else as I can now? Using the traditional ATV interface? So can I still sync lower res videos etc. through iTunes, or will this Crystal card disable that and ONLY allow viewing through XBMC?

Thank you again!!!

Right, everything else will remain the same. The only drawback is the video card replaces the wifi card so the AppleTV will need to use an ethernet connection.
