Any plans for a re-design to the Infuse tvOS UI?

First, this channel seems to be mostly people that are having issues with Infuse, and I think my post could be mistaken for a suggestion (and it might turn into that depending on the answer), but since the channel description says “General discussion and questions about Infuse”, I am going to post it here as well since I am just asking a question.

Question is basically in the topic title. I, and I think quite a few others, are really put off by the Infuse UI. Its very dated looking, and I can’t even really say that it is utilitarian either, as I don’t think it is a very intuitive design. So I ask, is a UI re-design in the works or something that is being thought about?

At least for the pre playback screens, those were revamped for 8.0 after much back and forth. I’m guessing there won’t be any more major redesigns any time soon. The homepage and favorites could use some love though. Next pick up date will be adding extras.

Yeah the home page is what really needs work.

This. There’s apps out there with only a single amateur dev with a home page that looks so much better than Infuse. Infuse could add a hero section for example. Infuse looks outdated.

Agree the UI is very basic and in many cases doesn’t make any sense. For “Up Next” and “Continue” we are stuck with backdrops in landscape. Why can’t we have episode images for shows and landscape posters for movies? Why do movie and tv show pages have both clear art and the name of the movie/show (duplication)? How about clear art in the video player overlay?

Also annoying is when you go to watch a movie or show that was already started, you have to confirm again to start from that time stamp.

More customization on the home page would be good, too, instead of just moving things around. Being able to have tabs for movies, shows, etc would be better than just a “Jellyfin” button at the bottom. Just another menu you have to cycle through unnecessarily. Thought all these things would improve with direct mode but seems to be a big step backwards.

Anyway, don’t forget to “like”, “heart”, whatever to “show support” blah blah.

You can change this in the settings.

I’ll double check last time I looked I don’t think I saw anything.

I would like for the developers to be cautious about fundamental redesigns. Me and others I know who use Infuse on tvOS are super happy about the current UI and would appreciate changes only if it’s a clear improvement. Right now it’s a very simple, configurable structure:

Top: Continue watching

Bottom: List of configurable deep links to various parts of the library. I can add a link to movies or TV shows plus specialized links to categories.

This is perfect and I wouldn’t want to trade this for something that streaming platforms are pushing with their suggestion based UIs, where you have a hard time navigating through the library in a predictable manner.

If there’s any redesign planned, I hope it will not be anything like Netflix or the like and if it is, I hope there’s the option to stay on the old design.
