Alphabet location indicator when scrolling

Would be really useful to have some sort of alphabet location indicator visible when scrolling through a large movie database. Currently you just have to scroll really fast, then stop to see what you are up to then scroll fast again, stop and see where you are etc. Would be better if a letter came up while scrolling to indicate where you were. for example A while still in all movies beginning with A, then moving through to B, C, D etc. Thanks.

1. When sorted by name, please show all letters A-Z and make clickable. This way if I know I want to watch a file that starts with a “Y,” I can click that letter and jump down to those files instead of scrolling for ages to get there.

2. Allow for sorting by newest movies first (release date)

3. As other have suggested a list view, possibly with metadata off to the right. Would allow for much quicker scrolling.

Allow us to change these sort options within the share. This way we do not have to back out to the main menu, go into settings, change the sort options, then go back in the share.

I really would love to see this.
It’s probably one of my last of two irritations in Infuse.

Requesting a letter index similar to what the official Plex app has to quickly navigate through the movies list.

This is the only blocker that currently prevents me from using Infuse 100%.
Let me explain why.

I don’t really enjoy using my Siri remote so I usually use my LG CX remote via CEC.
While this works fine for 95% of things, there are still some apps that lack some kind of support.

Infuse is one of those apps.
How can I go from the letter A to L with a TV remote when you have a library with thousands of movies? It will take ages…

That’s why I’m requesting a quick shortcut that allow us to jump to a specific letter.

Search sometimes helps, but I don’t remember the name of the movie I’m looking for much of the times, I just know it starts by that letter (I blame my age).

Hope I’m not alone in this.

In Plex, when you go to your TV Show or Movie library, you are able to select a letter on the right hand side which will them jump straight to TV Shows or Movies that start with that letter. This makes is much easier to navigate through large libraries.

I would love to see the same implemented into Infuse!

The alphabet location indicator has been on the upcoming list now for over a year. When it this going to be implemented.

Sadly Its been flagged as planned for a very long time.
Pretty sure it was flagged as upcoming at one point before moving back to just being planned.

There is some legacy code which makes this more challenging than it seems.

We need to spend some time reworking some of the views for browsing videos, and once that is done this can be added.

In this context, you could please also finally make the scrolling smoother! Currently it is very jerky when scrolling… This is not the case in other tvOS apps…

Therefore, it would be great if you then also optimize the Scrolling when you anyway rework the UI

I think it was a mistake to close this one: Jump/Navigate through movie collection by letter

I would suggest that if I press letter “M”, the library should jump to the files/folders/videos that starts with M. I want to watch Matrix, and I don’t want to scroll and find… (MacOS)
