Since the recent updates I have had issues with AirPods losing audio on AppleTv either totally or audio really slowed down and distorting. They are fine with other apps and Infuse fine with different Bluetooth headphones. Running latest Infuse and TvOS.
I have exactly the same issue. Distortion followed by complete loss of sound and no issue in any other app
I have the exact same issue after the recent Apple TV update.
Steps to reproduce:
- Connect to Airpod Pro
- Play a video in Infuse Pro
- Fast forward a few times.
- Airpod Pro is still connected, but nothing comes through.
I encountered a similar issue over the weekend. Audio initially started fine, but slowly degraded to being terrible over the course of about 15-20 minutes. For me, pausing the video, disconnecting the AirPods, waiting a couple of minutes, reconnecting, then playing the media, seemed to work and fixed it for the remainder of the movie that I was watching.
Same issue here. Very easy to replicate, especially if you forward or rewind in a video a few times. Even tried resetting the apple TV completely and tried different Apple TVs. This is definitely a bug and hopefully ends up high on the priority list to fix. I have to resort to the older version of Infuse for now.
I’ve been experiencing the same issue as well. Audio on my AirPods with Apple TV starts fine but either distorts or slows down after a while. Like others have mentioned, pausing and reconnecting temporarily fixes it, but it’s frustrating to deal with during longer viewing sessions. I also noticed that this happens more frequently when skipping forward or backward in videos. Hoping for a fix soon—this seems to be a bug affecting multiple users.
It seems to only impact Airpods Pro (both 1 and 2). I can’t replicate this issue with my old non-pro Airpods.
no comment from Infuse on this yet? Also surprised others aren’t commenting on this massive and obvious issue
still nothing? what’s going on guys?
Same issue here……
Same issue as well. Incredibly annoying.
No issues at all with my AirPods Pro Gen 2 and AirPods Max on the ATV 4k running latest tvOS 18.2. Maybe it depends on which Version of tvOS, ATV and AirPods is used together.
Hi Luy,
I really appreciate your response. I think maybe this is a plex issue? I’m noticing the same issue in Plex on my Apple TV as well. No other app has this issue. For me it’s started in the past week or so.
Seems to be many people who have this issue as well.
I can’t really imagine that it has anything to do with Plex. Infuse uses its own completely independent video player. I’m also not sure if the problem is really that widespread, as the complaints here are still quite limited. And I believe that quite a lot of people use AirPods in combination with Infuse.
Just yesterday, I watched an entire movie with the AirPods Pro again—no issues at all. So, as said it’s probably some specific combination of devices and software versions that’s causing the problem.
I’ve tried troubleshooting and using other AirPods, including non pro AirPods, and still having the issue. Seem to be having this since the latest Infuse update. incredibly annoying. Don’t have this problem with any other app except for Plex.
Anything being done about this? Incredibly annoying. I’ve tried all kinds of troubleshooting. Multiple AirPods. It either doesn’t play any audio or it plays some of the audio track, like dialogue, with all background noise or music gone, and then eventually breaks down into distortion and then nothing. Fast forwarding/rewinding or playing/pausing usually triggers it to go from no audio to just dialogue, at least briefly.
Very odd how it plays just some of an audio track.
As demonstrated in this thread — clearly many people have this issue.
I used to have this issue with AirPods Pro 2 and Apple TV 4K 2nd Gen, but this issue seems to have been fixed by some update(s). I’m currently on tvOS 18.3, Infuse Pro 8.0.9, and AirPods Pro 2 firmware version 7B21.
