Hi.
Having recently realized that my iPhone Air does not have video out capability (I believe all iPhones except iPhone 16e, 17e and Air have video out capability via lightning or usb c to HDMI adapters), I am looking for a portable way of playing video.
AirPlay to Apple TV works, but APple TV is not really portable and requires an electricity plug.
I purchased several AirPlay HDMI adapters.
They work great to display Keynote presentations, and work fine with HEVC content in Infuse, using screen mirroring.
However, H264 files in Infuse don’t play, and Infuse gets back to the pre-play screen.
I believe that this is because H264 files are supposed to be decoded by the AirPlay receiver, and, since the AirPlay receivers -none licensed by Apple- can’t handle that properly, the files do not play at all.
Is there a switch to allow H264 decoding in Infuse on the iPhone when using screen mirroring over AirPlay (that would work with HDMI Airplay receivers)?
Or, has anyone an idea of a particular HDMI Airplay receiver (working with USB power) working in that situation ? Or a video player app that I could use in that particular situation?
Thanks in advance.
