AirPlay is broken after the IOS 26 update. It only streams audio even for 1080p movies that didn’t have any problems before the update. Even Screen Mirroring doesn’t fix the issue because it displays only static image.
When airplaying to Apple TV, I only get sound, no video. If I duplicate the screen, all I get is a still image of the video, and no sound.
After a bit of testing, it is happening with mkv media that has audio codec Dolby Atmos 5.1 or E-AC3 5.1
Mp4 media with audio codec ACC 2.0, works.
Happening on iPhone 15Pro and iPad Pro (M4), both on iOS 26.0.1
No issues on an old iPad with Infuse Pro 7.3
Also happening with mp4 h.264 AAC 5.1
Please help. At this time, Infuse is completely useless to me, if I can’t airplay to my TV.
Are you AirPlaying to an Apple TV or some other kind of device?
Apple TV 4K.
Also, toggling 5.1 Audio over airplay & Dolby Atmos buttons on/off in Infuse audio settings, doesn’t help.
Is anything being done about this issue? I have seen two updates since it was raised, but still unable to airplay my videos.
VLC airplays fine, so it’s not an “apple” issue. Thanks
I’m not sure if it’s related, but I noticed since iOS 26 (iPhone 15 Pro updated to latest version of iOS and Infuse) many mkv files can’t be shared via Airplay, not via Infuse nor via share screen function.
Basically, each time I share the entire screen on my tv and try to play such file, the file opens and immediately closes, which Infuse getting back to the files list. With older iOS (before 26) everything smooth, I could play the same exact file on the same exact tv (Samsung).
I still have another iPhone, older, with iOS 17. There the same file can be reproduced via Airplay on the same tv with no problems at all. So I suppose it’s iOS 26 fault.
File mentioned here: mkv container, H.264 with Dolby Digital 5.1.
I tried already to play with audio settings, but same result.
@james if needed I’m willing to send any requested log and so on. I’m Infuse user since 8 years ago and I’m willing to be ![]()
I am having the same issue. I will attach media info for two files. One works, the other does not.
Both of these used to work
I tried contacting support via email and was basically just told that AppleTV could only play certain formats… but both of these are h264 and both of these would have played fine a year ago
Very disappointing this hasn’t been resolved, I have been a paying customer for several years.
See attached media infos.
Deadpool WILL airplay properly.
The big short will NOT. It only streams audio, no video, though on my iPhone it continues to appear as if it IS streaming video, but it isn’t.
Since I am a new user it will only let me attach one attachment. I will try to post the rest after this. I have sent these in to support already.
What version numbers? iOS had an update today to 26.2 and Infuse had one not long ago to 8.3.4 .
Hi, actually after updating to iOS 26.2 and to latest version of Infuse (as yesterday), it looks like the problem is “auto“ solved. I will keep track of the properties of video files, which did not work but now work. So in case in the future I will experience the same problem, I can be more precise the next time.
My issue has not been resolved. I am on the most recent infuse and iOS versions.
Since both OS and Infuse change versions frequently this may change often so it’s best to specify actual version numbers instead.
Good point,
IOS 26.3
TVOS 26.3
Infuse 8.3.5 (5459)
It has been an issue for a while though, maybe a year, if I had to ballpark it.
edit: I had to delete an attachment previously in my post from a couple of weeks ago due to being a new user. This is what it looks like on the TV when one doesn’t work. Audio still works, no video though. On my phone it displays as if airplay is working.
Any movement on this issue? @NC_Bullseye
Hello,
Following up on this topic. Seems that not being able to airplay videos that are supposedly supported would get more attention.
I have yet to receive meaningful help, or a solution to the many issues and bugs that plague my use of infuse.
They will take your money with great ease, but support is very lacking.
Hello @james I’m facing the same problem again. This time I have some more data and a screencast.
So, now I’m on Infuse 8.3.7 (5530), iPhone 15 pro max, iOS 26.2.1
When I try to play over AirPlay (duplicating screen) on my TV, the video gets closed as soon as I push Play button, as you can see in the attached video.
This file works perfectly in infuse if it’s not over AirPlay. File is H.264 720p Dolby Digital 2.0 in Matroska container.
Problem happens of file is synchronised on the phone as well as if it’s in a remote location.
I’m willing to send you any log or whatever can help to solve the problem. I care Infuse to be as good as it has been in the past decade and more.
Thanks
My issue has had no resolution as well. I guess I will make a fresh thread in hopes it will be seen by the right person.
Hello!
I’ve experienced the same issue. ![]()
I’m having trouble playing anything from an iPhone or MacBook (running OS26.4) to any AirPlay device, regardless of what I try. However, this issue seems to be limited to iOS26/macOS26 devices. I recently tested an old iPhone with iOS18 and it worked perfectly.
Here are my observations:
With any OS26.4-based devices as sources running Infuse 8.4.2 (and earlier versions):
- iPhone to iMac: Doesn’t work.
- iPhone to AppleTV: Doesn’t work.
- iPhone to LG-TV: Doesn’t work.
- MacBook to LG-TV: Doesn’t work.
- iMac to AppleTV: Nope.
(All AirPlay targets are OS26.4 except for the LG-TV.)
The symptoms are exactly the same like all other users in this thread already have reported: Infuse appears to start playing, and the target displays the Infuse screen with a thumbnail/poster of the selected video. After a few seconds of thinking around, Infuse abruptly stops and returns to the home screen.
This issue persists regardless of whether I enable screen mirroring before or if I hit the Airplay-button during playback in Infuse.
- Sometimes, even when screen mirroring is disabled, the target device only plays audio.
- I’ve tested this on different networks (home and work).
- I’ve tried various video formats, including 720p, 1080p, H264, H65, MPEG2/DVD-Images.
- Screen mirroring or playing via Airplay from other apps (like VLC) works with the same video files.
- It seems that some low-bandwidth, low-resolution files (such as old AVIs and MPEGs) still work via Airplay.
However, with an old iPhone still running on iOS18 (and also with the latest Infuse 8.4.2) as the source, all the listed targets above work fine (the very same devices!). Sometimes, it only works when screen mirroring is enabled, but that’s acceptable for me.
Dear Firecore Team and @james , do you have any ideas?
It appears that I’m not the only one experiencing this very annoying problem.
Can you at leasr reproduce it?
Is this a general OS26 bug/modification?
Do you have some iOS18 devices to cross-check?
I’m willing to help in any way I can or conduct more targeted tests according to your instructions!
Kind regards,
Micha
