AFP connection errors and very slow response in ATV2

I have my ATV2 connected to my Mac Mini 2011, via an Airport Extreme to stream movies.  Everytime I wake the ATV2, it is very slow to respond and while in the Media Player, it takes several seconds to go back to main screen. If I open the Media Player again, it almost always has an AFP connection error to my Mac Mini, but finally shows my movies on the second attempt.  Also, my Mac Mini does not go into sleep mode, so the connection should not lag.  This has been going on with every version of the firecore software I have used. Are there some network tweaks I need to implement on my Mac Mini or Airport Extreme to prevent connection errors and minimize lag? DoI need to wipe my ATV2 and do a fresh install? I really like having this setup, but it’s almost unusable at this point.  Anyone else having similar issues?

aTV Flash Black 2.2 with the latest iOS release. I did a fresh install.

it takes very long, fails, and work almost immediately on second attempt.

The speed at which files/folders are loaded are almost always dictated by the network connection speed.

Are you using a wired or wireless connection?

I tried using both wireless and wired (over Powerline) network, but it still works very slow.

I had no issues with old aTV/iOS.

i’m having similar issues, despite being able to stream high quality movies etc… with no buffering times the menu response rate for the media application is very very slow. I’m running a share direct from a readynas device via wired connection, using either AFP or CIFS protocols don’t seem to make a difference. Great product, just wish the menu’s were snappier!
