Just like the missing [multiple subtitles] feature, being able to adjust the skip times would greatly assist language learning. It’s a shame it’s not there.
This is my first time using Infuse for macOS, but I’m frustrated to find that the default fast forward and rewind time in Infuse is 15 seconds, which is obviously a bit long.
Why can’t we let users decide for themselves how long to fast forward? Some people might prefer 5 seconds or even 1 second. There should be an option for us to choose.
I’m not sure if I can describe the problem clearly, because I am using ChatGPT for translation
I moved your post to a currently running thread requesting this feature.

I’d like to add an important note that when using the Apple TV and HomePod, if I say “Hey Siri, rewind 30 seconds”, it just rewinds 5 seconds. No matter what I say, it only rewinds 5 seconds. All other apps you can say the amount of time.
Note that if you aren’t playing audio out of the HomePod then you have to say “Hey Siri, rewind my TV x seconds”.
Hi, I would also really like this feature added It’s insane that this was request in 2018 and nearly 6 years later and still nothing…
@james we’d really like to see this implemented sooon
James, can you explain why you continue to refuse this request? Is it some deep philosophical reason or because it is ver hard to program? Please explain. We should be able to chose the default times for both the left right arrow and the up down as well
This feature is tagged as “in progress” so it doesn’t seem like it’s being refused.
It’s slated for 7.6.8 release as it stands now.
Today’s 7.6.7 update adds the ability to set custom forward/back skip times on iOS and macOS.
The new options can be found in the Settings > Playback menu.
Note: If the ‘Chapter Controls’ option is enabled the seek buttons will be used to skip between chapters instead of time skip, so these time settings will have no effect.
Wonderful
- will this come later to tvOS?
tvOS does not feature a skip ‘button’ like iOS/macOS. Instead you can either use edge taps to skip forward/back in 10s increments or hold down forward/back to enable a more traditional seek operation. These controls are consistent with other tvOS player apps.
