Jellyfin used to allow for connecting via a pin code. In the most recent release they removed the ability to do so because of a security bug. The line below was in the recent patch notes. It appears they are pointing people towards using the quick connect feature instead. Which makes me suspect it won’t be coming back.
The EasyPassword (PIN) feature has been removed as this was a big security risk especially for administrator accounts; QuickConnect login is still supported however.
This has caused me a significant headache since I primarily use(d) the EasyPassword or QuickConnect to login to my Jellyfin instance with my apps. Now that EasyPassword seems to have been removed, I’m locked out of using Infuse with it because QuckConnect isn’t supported by the app.
I’ll second adding support for QuickConnect. I use Authelia + Jellyfin SSO Plugin for 2FA, but I currently can’t disable the standard Jellyfin login, defeating the entire purpose of using Authelia, because Infuse doesn’t support QuickConnect.
Seconded, on a quest to replace all app logins with Authentik and would need Infuse to keep working and be able to disable normal login, and I believe QuickConnect is the easiest way.
Infuse is a great app! I use it on my phone, tablet, laptop and Apple TV. The free version is more than sufficient for me. However, I have a subscription, because I want to support great software when it’s well-deserved.
I’m in the same situation as @FatalFlare and @xored, rolling out OIDC for my network. Having Infuse support Quick Connect would be a breeze!
Would love to see this. Was originally asked two years ago and never commented on by Firecore. We already have Emby Connect and Plex Sign-In. Why is Jellyfin treated like the second-class citizen?
