I sort of wonder how feasible this would be now with “direct” mode (where Infuse isn’t actually creating a database of your content)? They should be able to query the actor bio information easily enough, but then trying to match that up to content you have in your media server(s) might be a fair amount of work.

It would also add a lot of additional calls to their metadata provider (TMDB?) - not sure if there’s a limit on how much data they can pull on a periodic basis?

Hi, one thing I miss about Infuse compared to other platforms is a bit more information about actors, directors, etc., on the viewing screen. When I click on an actor, in addition to the files they’re in that are on my server, a short biography should also appear. This biography should include their date of birth, nationality, social media links, and complete filmography.

I think it would be great to implement this.

I am a new user and I would love to see this feature on Infuse! Definitely missing it after switching from Plex

Infuse presents actors and crew for movies and shows. When clicking on them, you’ll see movies and shows in your own library only.

Plex shows more. It would be awesome if you Infuse could also present all important work of the person, next to what’s in the library. Eliminating an IMDb search on my phone.

+1 for this. I’d like to add a concrete use case to make the request easier to scope.

When I select an actor on a movie detail page, Infuse currently only shows titles from my own library. What I’d want instead:

  • Clicking an actor opens their full TMDB filmography, not just what’s in my library.
  • Each title is clearly marked as either “In library” or “Not in library”.
  • Titles not in my library are still tappable and link through to Discover or the TMDB entry, so I can look them up without leaving Infuse.

The core value: when I recognise an actor and want to know where else I’ve seen them, I currently have to switch to IMDb or TMDB. Pulling the full filmography from the metadata source Infuse already uses would keep that entirely inside the app.

Since the TMDB data is already being fetched for cast info, showing the complete filmography feels like a natural extension rather than a new integration. Would be a great addition.
