Actor images

How come that in some items a list of actors show up, and in some they don’t show up.

I have all 3 Rush Hour movies. Actors only show up for the 1st movie, but for Rush Hour 2 and 3 they don’t show up.

What am I doing wrong??

Have you tried doing an edit metadata and re-selecting the correct match on the ones missing the cast? Sometimes that will bring in missing pieces.

I did… switch to use the nfo… and then back to the one infuse brings up… didn’t help.

Did you move the nfo file out of the directory the movie is in before you did the edit metadata and re-select the correct one?

Will try that now…

Doesn’t work either… it is weird… and it’s not just with the Rush Hours… also on other movies.

How can I refresh the metadata from one movie?

If you go to the movie poster in the favorite instead of the preplayback screen you can long press on the movie poster and you can get the menu with the option to “Edit Metadata”

I get that yes, but then I get the same menu with the same options. I can choose NONE, use embedded (I removed the existing nfo from the folder, otherwise that would be an option too). OR, choose the one infuse brings up, see image.

None of this helps.

Embedded is not for nfo files, that for when you have actually added the metadata to the video file itself internally. Don’t enable embedded unless you have done this. It will extend the time Infuse takes to scan files looking for metadata inside the video file.

You’ll just want to make sure the nfo file is not in the same directory as the video and then click on the correct video for edit metadata and it should reload it.

Can you do a screen cap of each of the directors these movies are in?

I created this

This is what Infuse returned with no further manipulations

I think it is a bug.

I put all 3 rush hour movies in one folder, and then everything is ok, all actors etc. show up.

So i put them back to their own folder, so a folder per movie. And then for Rush hour 2 and 3, the actor images are gone again.

Weird.

I have seperate folders for all my movies like in the image.

I thought renaming them to just movie name and year would help, but it didnt. Still not showing actors in rush hour 2 and 3.

See image for renamed.

I now also renamed the folder to the movie name also (same). Now it shows all actors for every movie.

But why, it shouldnt matter what the folder is named like, right?

I often find the folder name causes problems if not named exactly as the video file inside. It will also cause series posters to not show if the folder name is off.

One thing to try if your up to it, even though a comma is not listed as an illegal character I’ve had them cause problems. Maybe try one of the movies with the original names for folder and files but without the commas?

Thanks so much for hammering on this till you found what works! :+1:

One other thing that may be causing problems, the users guide says to use curly brackets for the IMDB numbers so the parentheses may be the issue.

Also not having the “imdb” or “tmdb” may be throwing things off.

You can also include the TMDB or IMDb ID number in the filename (in curly brackets) to allow Infuse to find an exact match. Use a structure of {[source]-[id]}.

Inception {tmdb-27205}.mkv
Inception {imdb-tt1375666}.mkv
