AAC & DTS to Dolby, one software can help

On post to share a recent discover of mine.
I have an hold Samsung TV with an old Logitech Z3300 sound system.

The sound system can get Dolby and DTS 5.1 signal, but only over Optical and Digital Coax.
The TV is Dolby passthrough but not DTS passthrough.

With the atv2, we got an direct optical output. So it was easy for me.
Moreover, Firecore’s FlashBlack sent AAC codec as Dolby. Everything were fine.

But now, new aTV, no optical output. I have to go through my TV.
So no DTS and no AAC anymore. Only Dolby (AC3) is working.

My current solution: the software REMUX.
In less than 2mn, it changes an AAC or DTS track into a 640kps AC3 track.
So I have 5.1 working again with any movie.

Hope it will help !

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the tip. I’m in the same boat as you - but I have a hard time getting myself to part ways with the superior DTS audio. I was hoping a good 5.1 soundbar with 4K HDMI 2.0 passthrough would show up at CES 2016 - no dice - so I’ve been considering a HDMI to optical converter.

It’s another option.
