A lag when skip backward on video with Dolby Vision and DDP5.1.Atmos

there is roughly 2-3 seconds lag when skip backward on 4k video with dolby vision DDP5.1.Atmos.DV.HDR.H.265-FLUX format on apple tv
is the lag to do with DDP5.1 Atmos or to do with dolby vision?

will there be a fix for this in order to get infuse with a silk smooth playback experience?

I’m also experiencing a lag when fast forwarding and rewinding. The app seems very sluggish whenever I try to seek in the app.

i think the lag is to do with DDP 5.1 atmos audio…rather than to do with dolby vision

why is the lag in large 4K video file not fixed in version 8

Version 8 is not released yet.

will it be fixed in version 8 then?
someone who is a beta tester told me that it wont be fixed in v8

Here are the items that are currently being announced for version 8.0

it doesnt say in the upcoming features that the lag will be fixed so it wont be fixed.
why does the firecore team not prioritise to fix it ? large 4k video files are very popular now

Wow that’s a bold statement from whoever it was! (it’s almost like they have insider info?)

I have actually watched five 4K DV movies today. Four had eac3 and atmos and one didn’t. There is no lag in any file I played.

the lag only happens when u fast forward or backward

There has been no mention of fixing it for 8.0 (first release), not that it won’t come to v8 ever.

It has happened to me on the last 5 4K movies I’ve watched and even on an HD yesterday.

On 2nd gen ATV 4K

The lag is very obvious once you seek forward and backwards.

I also get a lag of a few seconds when seeking in DDP5.1 Atmos files. It’s definitely the Atmos, because disabling Atmos in tvOS settings fixes the lag (but obviously then there’s no Atmos).

Seeking Atmos content in other apps (Netflix, AppleTV+ etc) doesn’t lag. I suspect Infuse is doing something with the way it handles Atmos in order to have it work with tvOS?

I’ve also been having this same issue, seems to happen with high bitrate movies only.

No amount of changing settings in Infuse or Apple TV settings fixes it

i think the lag must have something to do with dolby atmos 5.1 as well
i got a 1080p video file with dolby atmos 5.1. when i fast forward or backward there is a lag.
@james

there is a lag for 1080p video file with Dolby Atmos 5.1 file when fast forward or backward.
the lag not only on large 4k video file
